Woolwich expects more than 30,000 people along with the BBC for this month's Great Get Together event at the barracks.
Part of the Armed Forces Day celebrations, the event takes place on June 28 featuring live entertainment, information stalls and activities from 11am to 6pm.
It will also feature a performance stage including an appearance by X-Factor finalists Loveable Rogues, a sports and activity zone, plus a play area for young children.
The BBC World War One at Home Tour will also be in town, featuring hands-on activities, interactive sessions and interviews hosted by actor Larry Lamb, radio presenter Robert Elms and reporter Kate Adie.
A central arena will include displays by the parachute display team from the 2nd Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment and a riding display by the King’s Troop.
Military and vintage vehicles on display will include some of the guns and vehicles from the nearby Firepower museum, together with displays of vintage and modern police vehicles.
