A group of residents has started an initiative to debate the possible redevelopment of Crystal Palace Park.

‘The Information Project’ has been formed by concerned locals who want to discuss the impact large-scale changes would have on the community.

This month kicks off a series of talks involving architects, planners, politicians, and London-based broadcasters.

Historical trends, the culture and design of the area, economic problems, and environmental repercussions are just a few of the subjects up for debate.

The organisation mentioned a number of issues Crystal Palace might face as a result of the park being transformed.

One is London’s Olympic legacy, which it said has created “an illusion of festivity that seems unsustainable”.

The first talk, ‘Heritage and Legacy: In the Shadow of Dinosaurs’, will take place at the Salvation Army Worship Hall on Wednesday June 25.
