The Townley Grammar School Athletics Team was awarded overall 1st Place at the recent Bexley Borough School’s Athletics Championships.
Townley took both junior and senior titles at the competition, coming first in the Junior Girls section (KS3 Years 7, 8, 9) with a whopping 124 points AND 1st in the Inter Girls section (KS4 Years 10, 11) with a phenomenal 143 points!
The Townley Athletics team also produced some outstanding individual results with many 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings across numerous events including Sprinting, Relay, Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin.
Head of PE, Mrs Gill-Worron, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to add another winning title to Townley’s growing list of sporting achievements. Staff from the PE Department and the girls involved have worked tremendously hard to prepare for the championships and this dedication and commitment is reflected in the results. I’d like to personally congratulate every Townley Athlete who took part – well done to you all.”
