First World War commemoration
Langley Park School for Boys’ three week First World War Centenary Commemorative Festival kicks off with an opening gala on Monday, June 16, at 7.30pm. The festival features a varied programme of music, dance and drama.

North Kent Embroiderers’ Guild Branch Day, 10am to 4pm on Saturday (June 14) at St John’s Centre in Meopham
Stalls will be selling goodies from 10am to 1.30pm and newbies can come along to stitch a simple flower with the help of members. Guest speaker Dr Lynn Hulse talk from 2pm. Entry costs £2 for non-members and includes tea and a biscuit. There is a simple ploughman’s lunch for a small fee. The Guild meets every third Saturday of the month at Gravesend Library.
