Green-fingered volunteers have been recognised as more are encouraged to help out at a Kent garden.
The Great Comp garden in Platt, near Sevenoaks, took part in the celebrations to mark the 30th birthday of National Volunteer week yesterday.
The garden’s curator William Dyson said: “For us, volunteers are essential; the garden is managed by a Trust and if we are to continue to provide a garden sanctuary for people to visit, we have to maintain the garden to a high standard while protecting the funds left to us by the owners Eric and Joy Cameron.”
Volunteering roles at the garden include light garden duties and welcoming visitors, while volunteers receive refreshments and a season ticket pass to the garden.
