THE club has had a very successful year.
It has enjoyed increased membership and a good mix of social and competitive games.
The annual singles competition was hotly contested.
Ken Tompkins was the overall winner, with Evelyn Hemmings a close runner-up.
Past difficulties with completing the doubles competition fixtures caused the committee to have a re-think and this produced a format based on net average results over a three-month period in the autumn, called the Roundabout Doubles Competition.
The ladies winner was Barbara Mills, and the men's winner was Richard Sayce, who was also the overall winner.
A presentation of trophies was held at Crofton Halls last month.
The Roy Luckett Cup was presented to Ken Tompkins.
Two new trophies were presented to Barbara Mills and Richard Sayce.
Club members are mainly those enjoying retirement and they meet at Crofton Hall, Orpington, on Wednesdays from 9.30am to noon.
