FIREFIGHTERS spent six hours putting out a huge haystack fire in Southfleet yesterday (Nov 25).
Approximately 50 tonnes of baled straw set alight on New Barn Road at around 3pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescure spokesman said two fire engines were at the scene and firefighters used farm machinery to help break up the haystack.
The fire was eventually stopped at 9.10pm.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
