AN AWARDS ceremony speech gave a former EastEnders actress the chance to share her experiences about being a foster child.
Elarica Gallacher, who was in care for many years, told foster carers how they can play a crucial role in the future success of the youngsters they are looking after.
And at the inaugural event held at Bromley Football Club she explained how her carers inspired her to reach her full potential and believe in herself.
There were a number of awards on the day ranging from learning to jump to achieving grade As in GCSE exams.
They were created to honour the children for the smallest to the most prolific achievements.
It was organised by foster agency Orange Grove and is now expected to become a national event for the company.
