AN ALICE in Wonderland style tea room and exotic smoothie stall were just some of the attractions on offer at a Bromley school fete organised exclusively by students.

The pupils from Ravensbourne School in Hayes Lane spent months working on the event from researching themes to sourcing prizes.

Many rearranged their weekend jobs to be there on Saturday (July 13) and battled the sweltering heat for seven hours to ensure the fete went smoothly.

Around 800 people went along and the final profit - which will go towards the students' end-of-year prom - is still being counted.

Head of Year 12 Heather McEwen said: "The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing.

"It was so hot and the students did so well just to survive.

"The whole year group, around 210 of them, organised the event from researching their target audience to marketing and costings, creating costumes and manning the stalls on the day.

"As well as a bouncy castle and Deal or No Deal contests there was also an Alice in Wonderland style tea room and an exotic smoothie stall.

"The kids worked really hard and we are so proud of them."
