A SIDCUP biker joined hundreds of people paying their respects to murdered soldier Lee Rigby outside Woolwich Barracks on Friday (July 12).
Martyn Jalnik was joined by fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, soldiers and members of the public to lay wreaths just down the road from the spot where the Fusilier was killed on May 22.
The 25-year-old’s funeral took place in Bury the same day where thousands of mourners joined Prime Minister David Cameron in paying their respects to the father-of-one.
Mr Jalnik, 58, felt compelled to join fellow bikers on his £6,000 Harley Davidson Sportster as soon as he got the call.
The Albany Park, Sidcup, resident told News Shopper: "I went out of respect to someone who was murdered who served their country.
"It was appalling what happened and it’s still a disturbing thing. You don’t know when it could happen again. Lee Rigby was killed just because he was wearing a t-shirt."
The father-of-four added: "It meant a great deal to be there. Soldiers endure incredible sacrifices and they volunteer to go and do it regardless of their own safety."
