A BUSY cafe in Bexley Village has been given permission by the council to provide additional seating upstairs.
Hamers Homemade Food, which is based next to The Millers Arms in Bexley High Street, applied to Bexley Council to convert the vacant upper floor of the premises into additional seating for customers.
The application from Matthew Hamer, which was considered by the planning committee earlier in the month, outlined how the expansion would allow further staff to be taken on.
It also stated how the business currently has to turn customers away during busy periods and says “the current downstairs seating is not sufficient.”
One objection to the application was received from another food and drink outlet in Bexley Village, which suggested there were already enough restaurants nearby but the application was approved by councillors.
