A SWANLEY woman is due to go on trial today accused of causing the death of a shopper at Bluewater.
Dawn Chedd, of Cranleigh Drive is charged with causing the death of 71-year-old Claire Bishop by careless or inconsiderate driving.
The 50-year-old, who denies the charges, will appear in front of a jury and Judge Charles Byers in courtroom six at Maidstone Crown Court.
Her trial is expected to last between four and eight days.
Ambulance crews found Mrs Bishop, of Romney Gardens, Bexleyheath, trapped under the wheels of a silver Vauxhall Zafira in level one of the blue car park at the Greenhithe shopping centre at around 3pm on January 4 last year.
Mrs Bishop was rushed to the specialist major trauma unit at Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill with head, chest and abdominal injuries and died five days later, on the morning of January 9, 2012.
