PLANS to build up to 40 homes on a former sports ground in Greenhithe have been rejected.
The developer was hoping to gain outline planning permission to build on the former Empire Sports Ground but keep the existing Empire Bowls Club.
Dartford Council refused the application for the land south of Knockhall Road during a meeting on Thursday, May 16.
Concerns included the loss of open space, lack of parking and traffic congestion.
