A GROUP of dedicated litter pickers enjoyed clearing 30 bags of litter from Erith Park on Thursday.
With the half-demolished towers of the former Larner Road estate towering above, 13 staff from the McDonalds restaurant in Avenue Road and Orbit South cleared the green open space known as The Dell.
The second litter picking event of its kind, the litter was then collected by the Orbit South estate services team who disposed of it.
Erith Park regeneration officer Maddassar Arif said: “It was an enjoyable and productive day at The Dell.
“The space now looks clean and tidy and is ready for the community to enjoy as the sun arrives in the coming weeks.
“It even made an appearance for the duration of the clean-up, which was great.”
Business manager at McDonald’s in Erith Wendy Guest added: “The tidying day was a brilliant experience. The team have enjoyed cleaning The Dell and hope that it stays in a good state for the community to enjoy.
“We enjoy doing things for the community and seeing the positive difference that it makes.”
