A CATFORD club for older people is celebrating after gaining a pot of money to support their talents.
The Diamond Club for people aged 60 plus was awarded £1,000 of London Assembly cash and will host an event which “celebrates age”.
There will be knitting, tapestry, painting, jewellery, and cakes on show from some of the talented members of the weekly club at Hartley Hall on June 22.
Diamond Club coordinator Lesley Allen said: “It is a project celebrating age. It is a creative day of knitting, tapestry, painting, jewellery making, cake making, flower arranging”
“We are inviting the general public along to have a look and the idea is to encourage older people from the community to exhibit.”
To find out more about the club or the event which runs from 11am to 3pm on June 22 at the hall in Culverley Road, contact Ms Allen on 07729785843.
