Why this design?

“I had Japanese art in mind. The artist helped a lot. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted and he showed me a lot of designs.”

How much did it cost?

“So far, just under £1,000. I have got another 10 to 15 hours to go, and it has taken three or four months so far.”

Did it hurt? What did it feel like?

“It was weird. It was the weirdest pain I have ever felt. Some bits hurt at the time and some didn’t. Some of the time it hurt and then as soon as it stops you forget what it felt like.”

What did your friends say?

“Everyone really liked it. I have got quite a few friends who are going to get their tattoos at the same place. I have not had a negative comment so far.”

Have you got any more? If so what are they?

“My first one was a dog paw with RIP. This sleeve is my second tattoo really.”
