A MAN and woman were cut free from their vehicles following a two-car crash on the A2 near Bluewater yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to the coastbound carriageway close the Pepper Hill junction at 6.15pm to reports of a collision involving a black Ford Fiesta and a silver Peugeot 207.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the two casualties from their cars.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta had chest pains and minor injuries whilst the driver of the Peugeot 207 had arm injuries and was taken to a hospital in Medway.

The road was completely closed at 6.30pm whilst two fire engines, officers from Kent Police, paramedics and Highways traffic officers attended the scene.

Eight-minutes later, at 6.38pm, one lane of the road was re-opened to left traffic pass the scene of the collision.

Motorists queued back as far as Junction 2 at the M25 before the road fully re-opened at around 8pm.
