DARENT Valley Hospital has been named as one of the top 40 in the country.

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, which runs Darent Valley, is one of the 40 top performing trusts in the UK, according to health consultants CHKS.

The award is based on the evaluation of 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

Susan Acott, chief executive of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to have won this award for the seventh consecutive year.

“It is to the credit of everyone who works at Darent Valley that we have been able to secure consistently a place as one of the top 40 hospitals in the country.

“Staff at the hospital work tirelessly under increasingly challenging circumstances to provide a safe, clean and friendly environment for patients.
