A BENEFIT Justice meeting will be held in Penge next week, after Bromley became one of four London boroughs to have a benefits cap imposed last month.

The cap, of £500 a week for couples and lone parents and £350 for single people, is being trialled in the borough of Bromley, as well as Croydon, Haringey and Enfield.

The rest of the country is set to follow suit in the summer.

Speakers will include Ellen Clifford from Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC), Paula Peters from Bromley and Croydon DPAC and Glenn Kelley, the Bromley UNISON branch secretary.

The meeting will be on Monday May 13 at 7pm at the Crooked Billet pub on Penge High Street.
