A GROVE Park killer who knifed two men after discovering one of them in bed with his Mottingham ex-girlfriend has been jailed for a minimum of 20 years.

Delaney Barnett-Rohoman, aged 27, of Baring Road, was convicted yesterday (May 7) of murdering Harold Muzeremwi in Kingsley Wood Drive, Mottingham.

On October 20 last year, an enraged Barnett-Rohoman had armed himself with two kitchen knives after finding his ex Josie Hall in bed with 25-year-old Nash Walsh-Trew.

He attempted to attack the man but Mr Muzeremwi, who was in the lounge, rushed to protect his friend after hearing the commotion.

Barnett-Rohoman then turned on the peacemaker with his blades, severing the 20-year-old's pulmonary artery and driving the knife in so hard he bent the tip.

As he collapsed to the floor, the killer told him: "You man are dead."

Ambulance crews would later pronounce Mr Muzeremwi dead at the scene. Mr Walsh-Trew also suffered three stab wounds, but survived and was discharged from hospital the following day.

Mr Muzeremwi's family paid tribute to him in a statement read out in court. It said: "I always encouraged my son to stay indoors and not on the streets. Harold heeded my advice but met his death indoors where he believed he was safe.

"Harold was stabbed by someone whom he did not know, whom he had not wronged. It was only because he tried to be a peacemaker that he consequently paid the ultimate price.

"Someone's moment of madness resulted in my son's death - the loss of a child, a best friend and brother. Nothing and no one can bring my son back but justice has been served and Delaney Barnett will make no other parent walk down a lifelong path of pain as I will."

At Woolwich Crown Court yesterday he was given a  life sentence with a minimum term of 20 years for the killing.

He was also convicted of attempting to murder Mr Walsh-Drew and was given a 14 year sentence, to run concurrently.
