LONDON'S air ambulance landed near the Cutty Sark today after reports of an elderly man taken ill.
Police said a boat travelling along the Thames stopped at Greenwich pier so that a person on board could seek medical treatment.
A fire and rescue boat was also spotted at the scene along with police officers.
The London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 1.20pm after reports of an elderly man falling down some stairs.
He was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital for treatment.
