LEWISHAM Hospital staff did a dance of defiance against proposed cuts to the hospital with their version of internet phenomenon the Harlem Shake.
Midwives, nurses, doctors and admin staff all shook themselves with the typically crazy convulsive dance moves to musician Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” song outside the hospital on May 2.
The craze sees one person dance by themselves in a crowd before everyone else joins in and was filmed to show staff are passionate about the hospital which is still “open to business”.
Medical records administration staff member Michaela Smikle said: "We are just trying to show people we are still open to business, nothing's closed, nothing's gone and we are fighting to say we are still here and don't want to go anywhere."
