AN ERITH man has been charged in connection with violence at Millwall’s FA Cup semi-final against Wigan.

Billy Phillips, 27, of Dale View was arrested by police investigating the disorder on April 23.

He has been charged with violent disorder and possession of herbal cannabis with intent to supply.

Phillips has now been bailed to return to Hendon Magistrates’ Court on May 22.

Two other men were arrested by Met Police detectives on the same day on suspicion of violent disorder and both have been bailed until later in the year.

Four police officers suffered minor injuries as a result of the disorder, which broke out in the Millwall supporters’ area at Wembley during the tie on April 13.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andy Barnes said: “The scenes of violence at Wembley were wholly unacceptable.

“We want to reassure the public we’re working closely with our partners to do everything possible to remove these people from the stands.

“We are committed to bringing them to justice and in doing so we will seek to obtain lengthy football banning orders for all those found guilty at court."
