A BEXLEY hospice has reaped the rewards of an Easter chocolate amnesty by Slimming World members.
Slimmers from Bexleyheath, Blackfen, Welling and Erith donated dozens of chocolate Easter eggs to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice to help support future fundraising activities.
Susannah Luff, who runs the Saturday group in Bexleyheath, said: "We donated 5 stones worth of unwanted chocolate to the hospice: that’s equivalent to a bale of hay or a car tyre.
"It’s great to see the things we don’t need put to good use helping people in our own community.
"We’re so proud of the help that we’ve given."
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is based in Abbey Wood and provides free specialist end of life nursing, medical care and support for more than 2,500 local people every year.
