Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice has reaped the rewards of an Easter chocolate amnesty by local Slimming World members.
Bexley slimmers got into the Easter spirit by donating dozens of chocolate Easter eggs to the Hospice to help support future fundraising activities.
The mountain of tasty treats were donated from Slimming World groups in Bexleyheath, Blackfen, Welling and Erith.
Susannah Luff, who runs the Saturday group in Bexleyheath, said: “Our members were so proud to help the hospice last Christmas with a chocolate amnesty that we decided to do it all over again.
“We donated 5 stones worth of unwanted chocolate to the hospice, that’s the equivalent to a bale of hay and a car tyre!
“It’s great to see the things we don’t need put to good use, helping people in our own community.
We’re so proud of the help that we’ve given, it’s something we intend to continue throughout the year.”
