CHARLTON Lido welcomed former Olympic star Duncan Goodhew who dropped in to offer coaching for a fundraising swimathon.
The lido is one of 615 pools across the UK hosting sessions of the world’s biggest swimming fundraiser between April 26 and April 28.
Money raised is going to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
Mr Goodhew said: "Whilst we would obviously love for some of this country’s best long distance swimmers to go under an hour for their individual 5k’s, it is the enthusiasts that are the heart and soul of Swimathon.
"When someone who isn’t a natural in the water takes on, and overcomes, a challenge as big as this, their friends and family don’t generally need a lot of persuasion to back the cause. Especially when it’s one as respected and dedicated as Marie Curie Cancer Care."
