A COMEDIAN is preparing to use his belly for food rather than laughs when he takes on a ginormous breakfast challenge.

On Saturday morning (April 27) Tibs Holland will be travelling the 237 miles from his home in Burnt Ash Lane, Bromley, to Castle Café in Rochdale for a Man vs Food style feast.

He will be chowing down on 12 rashers of bacon, 12 sausages, an eight egg omelette with cheese, four portions of Spam, chips, tomatoes, baked beans, six fried eggs, four hash browns, six slices of black pudding, four slices of fried bread, four pieces of toast, and four slices of bread and butter.

To wash it down he will be given a cup of tea and he has to finish it all within an hour.

Most people would be daunted by the mountain of nosh but Mr Holland is looking forward to the challenge.

He said: “I have done nearly 30 years of eating training with meals twice and sometimes three times a day so I’m sure it’s something I can do.

“I have not got many talents in life; I can crack a joke and I can eat a lot.

“I’m a big man anyway with a substantial capacity for food and a massive appetite.

“I want to know what my limit is.”

Mr Holland has decided to turn the challenge into a fundraising endeavour to raise as much money for the Samaritans as possible.

He chose Castle Café after reading about it in the national press.

The 29-year-old added: “I have always been interested in competitive eating and I have often thought there’s not much like that in this country.

“As soon as I saw there was a food challenge on that scale at the Castle Café I was overwhelmed with the temptation to give it a try.”
