A MAN has been bailed following a New Cross assault which left someone in hospital and closed of large parts of the area's roads.
Police were called to the junction of Queens Road and Pomeroy Street on April 17 at 5.40am to reports of an assault.
There, they found two injured men, both aged in their mid-40s, who were taken to hospital.
One of them remains in hospital in a stable condition. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
The other man, who was initially treated for minor injuries, was discharged and then arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Following the assault, roads in the surrounding area were cordoned off, causing chaos for drivers and people travelling through New Cross by bus.
