Emergency services were called to Old Road East, close to the Old Prince of Orange pub and the junction of Windmill Street, at 5.20pm.

Two fire engines from Thames-side station used cutting equipment to free the woman from her car and she was then passed to paramedics for treatment.

Firefighters left the scene at 6.03pm.
