BEXLEYHEATH and Crayford MP David Evennett has called Baroness Thatcher’s funeral "impressive and moving".
Britain’s Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990 and twice unsuccessful parliamentary candidate for Dartford in 1950 and 1951, was cremated following a funeral a funeral at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday (April 17).
The young Margaret Roberts met her future husband and Erith-based business owner Denis Thatcher at a Paint Trades Federation function in Dartford in 1951.
Mr Evennett said: "It was an impressive and moving funeral which was a worthy tribute to the life of an outstanding lady.
"The service in St Paul’s celebrated Margaret Thatcher as one of us and I believe that this was well reflected in the address by the Bishop of London.
"I was proud to be among those commemorating her."
