YOUNGSTERS in Thamesmead tried their hand at a selection of different sports as part of an Easter holiday multi-sport course.

A group of 15 children aged five to 12 took part in games of tag rugby, short tennis, rounders and Swedish long ball throughout the course, which was held at Linton Mead Primary School, in Central Way.

Coach Mark Saunders is more used to coaching football than rounders but created the four-days of fun so youngsters could try out some lesser known sports.

Mr Saunders, who runs Charlton-based Just for Kickz Football Academy, said: "It is the first time I’ve done something like this and there has been quite an interest from parents and children.

"I have always coached just football but this is now an opportunity for children to try out different sports."

Each of the children who participated in the course was presented with a medal and certificate.
