A MAN who was sentenced for throwing dead pigeons at passers-by from the roof of a mental health hospital on Christmas Day was not a patient at the facility.

Bromley police were called at 11.40pm on December 25 to the Green Parks House in the grounds of the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough where there were reports of an “agitated man” on the roof.

He was up there for a couple of hours and threw stones, coins, mud and dead pigeons at police, firefighters and passers-by. Officers eventually restrained him and bought him down.

A Bromley police spokesman said: “Timothy Plummer was not a patient at Green Parks House.

“He claims he visited the facility to deliver Christmas presents and was refused access and had his phone confiscated.”

Following the incident, sales rep Timothy Plummer, aged 40, of Ravenbourne Park in Lewisham, was charged with assault on police and causing a public nuisance.

He pleaded guilty to both offences on April 2 at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and was given a 12 month conditional discharge.
