A CARETAKER appeared in court this morning (April 10) accused of stealing from the church where he worked.
Norman Penfold, of Albermarle Road, Beckenham, was at Bromley Magistrates’ Court after allegedly breaking into a room at Bromley United Reform Church which he was not allowed to enter and stealing £70 in cash.
He has been charged with burglary.
The 43-year-old will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on May 1.
Under the terms of his bail he is not allowed to enter the church in Widmore Road, Bromley.
