TWO women from Bromley have made it through to the final of Miss London City.

The penultimate round of the competition took place on Wednesday and both Roxie Edmunds, from Mottingham, and Amy Carlin, from Bromley town, are now into the grand finale taking place tomorrow (April 6).

The semi-final round was held at posh Mayfair club Aura, where 14 hopefuls attended a day of catwalk training, make-up tutorials and breast cancer awareness.

Amy Willerton, winner of Miss London 2012, supervised the contenders throughout the day along with celeb make-up artist Andrea Louca, photographer Roy Strutt and director Fay Hill.

Pauline Giles, founder of the Bosom Buddies Charity, gave the girls a presentation of her personal experience with breast cancer and how to raise awareness to others.

After deliberation among the production team the day concluded with all 14 aspiring beauty queens going through to the final, four more than expected.

Amy, aged 23, who works at a private investment company, said: “The breast cancer training was just so inspiring.

“I can’t wait for the final now, I want to show all girls out there that anything is possible.”

Roxie, a 20-year-old office worker, said: “Everyone has worked so hard and seeing the pageant come together has been great.

“It’s been an amazing and relaxed experience.”

Competition director Fay, from Greenhithe, said: “The pageant is about all the girls in London who deserve to be recognised for being beautiful inside and out.

“It’s about developing their self-confidence and showing their strengths of being independent. Everyone at bootcamp proved they are those women.”

The final will be held at lavish central London club Café De Paris.
