A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a woman was attacked in Welling.
Detectives from Bexley Police are now appealing to trace a key witness following the assault which happened at 8.45am on March 30.
Officers were called to Upper Wickham Lane, at the corner of Springfield Road, after a woman was grabbed from behind and indecently assaulted.
A passerby intervened and told the attacker to get away.
The suspect then walked off in the direction of Bellegrove Road and was later arrested in suspicion of sexual assault.
He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
The witness police are particularly keen to speak with is an elderly gentleman with a grey beard, who was walking a dog at the time.
