SOME homes in the Swanley and Farningham areas were without power for more than five hours last night.
UK Power Networks started to receive reports of a powercut affecting the BR8 postcode area from around 4.50pm yesterday evening.
Engineers were immediately sent to deal with a “fault on the high voltage network” but full power was not restored across the area until 10.30pm.
It was initially expected power would return by around 7pm but it was not until 7.15pm that engineers found what the fault was.
Engineers were then forced to call for more staff to attend to the fault and these extra resources did not reach the area until nearly 9pm.
