SWANLEY Town Council’s premier outdoor event is just around the corner.
The 1812 Concert and fireworks are heading to Swanley Park on Friday, August 24.
Bring a picnic and enjoy the small fun fair, boating lake, miniature railway and boating lake before a free evening of entertainment.
The show starts at 6pm with Mikki the Clown for the children, and is followed by the Big Sing Choir then Eynsford Concert Band, who will play tunes from popular tunes from musicals and film and music to reflect to Olympics, Paralympics and the Jubilee.
The evening will culminate with fireworks to the 1812 Overture.
Mayor of Swanley, Councillor Victor Southern said: “I am really looking forward to the biggest event in our community programme, 1812 Night, and welcoming everyone to our fantastic Green Flag award-winning Swanley Park.
"We have even more on offer this year with a children’s entertainer, our local choir singing and a splendid concert to look forward to. I also hope everyone will support the community fund-raising stalls at the event.”
Hot food and refreshments are available, but there will be no bar and people should not bring barbecues or fireworks.
There is a £2 parking charge, although residents with permits can park for free.
