PLAYS from either end of Shakespeare’s career are being brought together by a theatre company in Brockley.
One of the Bard’s first plays – and certainly his first comedy – Two Gentlemen of Verona will be performed alongside his last, Two Noble Kinsmen, which post-dated his tragedies.
Perfect Shadow Mingled Yarn are behind the Shakespeare’s Bookends combo, which will appear at Jack Studio Theatre in Brockley from Tuesday, August 21, until Saturday, September 8.
The tales, with striking plot similarities, unfold together with different examinations of love: one light, one dark, one young, one old, one comic and tragic.
It stars Matthew Cosgrove, Thomas Durant Pritchard, Laura Elsworthy, Elliot Fitzpatrick, Lucy Fyffe, Amelia Kirk, Henryk Roberts, Fraser Wall and is directed by Rafaella Marcus and Matthew Managhan.
Tickets cost £12, £10 for concessions and £20 or £16 for a season ticket.
