GREENWICH Theatre begins its autumn season with a Bangladeshi twist on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Performed in English and Bengali, People's Romeo is performed using Pala Gaan, a popular Bengali theatre style which combines music, dance and storytelling, to re-invent The Bard's classic romantic tragedy.
Weaving together Shakespeare’s verse and Bengali poetry, TARA Arts' production promises to be a dynamic cross-cultural slice of theatre.
People's Romeo. Greenwich Theatre, Crooms Hill, Greenwich. September 14 to September 18. Call 020 8858 7755 or visit greenwichtheatre.org.uk
