TENNESSEE Williams’ play The Night of the Iguana is being performed at the Beckenham Theatre Centre next month.
Directed by Fleur Buckley the play’s setting is a cheap Mexican hotel in the 1950s where a group of people are thrown together.
The Reverend T Lawrence finds himself leading guided bus tours for old ladies around religious sites after some sexual irregularities.
On the verge of a mental breakdown he locks his group on the bus and goes to the Costa Verde hotel where old friend and owner Maxine offers him a bed.
Enter Miss Jelkes and her old poet grandpa who arrive penniless and the reverend and the spinster strike up a rapport.
