IF YOU have ever walked past a house in Beckenham and wondered what goes on inside next month you will get the chance to find out.
Beckenham Theatre Centre in Bromley Road is throwing open its doors with a chance to take part in belly dancing, special effects make up and pantomime workshops as well as enjoy a cream tea in the garden.
The theatre started in 1948 as a children’s play reading group in the local library but by the end of the year it put on a production in the public hall.
In 1954 the Harvey Hall in Fairfield Road underwent a conversion to be the theatre’s home for the next five years.
The current home at 46 Bromley Road has been the theatre’s base since 1959 and it continues to provide a children’s and youth theatre as well as an adult section.
So if you are interested in finding out more why not come along on August 22 between 11am and 3pm.
