I CAN hand on heart say I've never before tossed a cow let alone been in charge of its aerial acrobatics once launched from a trampoline.

Playmobil Circus allows you the opportunity and also gives you the chance to feed/tease a lion, be a bandleader, try your hand at plate spinning and leap over an elephant's tail amongst other things.

In a nutshell, this is a series of mini-games (some using the nunchuck, some not) requiring you and upto eight friends to reach a certain standard (ie graduate from circus school) to then put on fully-fledged big top show.

There are also other extra 'encore' mini-games to unlock if your big top show is of the required standard.

With a target audience of say five to 11-year-olds, there's nothing here that is too taxing or frustratingly difficult for your Wiisters.

There's some button pressing, some pointing and the odd bit of nunchuck spinning and that's about it.

There's enough choice for very little ones to find a favourite mini-game and not have to bother with anything they find too demanding.

Visually, grown-ups will need sunglasses. It's bright and as plastic-looking as you expect from a Playmobil-themed game.

It comes with the compulsory, annoying background music that will invade the deepest recesses of your brain too!

Wii'uns will enjoy it. Despite some ropey graphics and a lack of controller feedback there is fun to be had.

There's humour too. My five-year-old, who has an attention span measured in nanoseconds, thought leaping over the elephant's trunk and tail was great fun. He also enjoyed trying to feed the lion and he thought the trampolening cow was udderly (sorry) brilliant.

With the holidays here, Playmobil Circus may not be the first thing you think of to keep the kids entertained for an hour or two, but don't dismiss it completely.

There's no rampaging lunatics, no alien invaders and no speeding sports cars, just some silly, fun, non-threatening games that will bring a smile to most kids' faces and for me that counts for a lot!

Verdict: 7 out of 10 - In keeping with the Playmobil name, this is a suitably light-hearted and fun collection of games which young wannabe Big Top performers will enjoy.
