BREAKING up is never easy, as Abba sang, but it doesn’t appear to have stopped duo New Found Affection.

One-time couple Tracey Collins and Matt Wiseman are promoting their single and video Save Me James after a couple of years of writing together.

Matt, 30, said: “We have been writing for a couple of years at my home studio in Bromley, and now we are confident with our sound we are preparing a live show called Sob Story that will have a touch of the theatrics.”

The sound they’ve arrived at is described by Bromley boy Matt as cinematic and Dreampop-cum-New Wave.

He said: “We write heartfelt ballads with a nod to 80s acts such as Eurythmics, Kate Bush and current acts like Electric Youth and Chromatics.”

VZ Magazine rated their tune, writing: “Love the new video from New Found Affection. Save Me James would have fit perfectly on the soundtrack to the movie Drive.”

The pair met four years ago. Matt said: “We started to write together and we were going out for a while.

“Now we are just concentrating on doing this.”

Both members of New Found Affection already make a living through music.

Tracey, who was once signed to record label BMG, performs an hilarious, must-see act called Tina Turner Tea Lady, where she sings the Diva’s classics while dressed in a tabard as a cafeteria employee.

Seriously, you must see it.

Matt creates music for online advertisers and as a coach for the eccentric sport Eton 5 – the oldest sport in England.

New Found Affection recently returned from a small tour in the US, taking in shows in Brooklyn and have worked with photographer Peter Ashworth – whose has shot the Eurythmics and Tina Turner in the past – to create an image.

The video, shot in Morecombe and the surrounding area with shots of the bay, woodlands and St Patrick’s and St Peter’s Chapel in Heysham, is clearly influenced by the 80s.

Singer Tracey, also 30, wears floating dresses in soft focus, shot by their mutual friend Jason Read. Matt said their only expense was the drive up to Morecombe.

He said: “A couple of highlights were assembling a bed on the beach for Tracey to dance upon, in what seemed like gale force winds.

“And having a friend’s horse lay down for us, although Tracey was terrified it would shoot up and squash her.”
