A NEW piano quartet will be born at Bromley Parish Church on Thursday, August 30.

Pianist Simon Lane has teamed up with Dutch violinist Cecila Bernadini, cellist Nathaniel Boyd and viola player Tom Hankey for a performance from 7pm to 8pm, followed by a platter picnic in the church gardens.

Simon said: “We all share a big passion for playing chamber music, and piano quartets is something we've all wanted to do more of for a long time as there are a lot of exciting and beautiful pieces to play.

“It is really great to bring friends together for a project like this, and we hope to be playing together for many years to come."

The quartet has chosen to perform Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E Flat and Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E Flat.

Everyone who buys a ticket will get a free glass of wine on arrival and Connexions will serve platters of cheese, charcuterie, smoked fish and wine or soft drinks on tables and chairs if the weather is good.

In bad weather, the food will be inside.

Tickets cost £12 or £5 for students, while under 16s are free. Call 0775 685 227 or e-mail Richard@family-lane.co.uk.
