WILD Party are the latest indie rockers to jump over the pond from Texas and are new signings on the up and coming Friends vs Records label.
Blending 80s electro with clattering percussion and guitar, the band’s first UK single Take My Advice is a whistful ode to teenage life.
Made up of brothers Lincoln and Jake Kreifels (vocals and bass), Lucas Hughes (guitar), Ethan Kaufmann (guitar) and Jared Shotwell (drums), Wild Party seem to owe much of their sound from group’s such as The Strokes.
But as the record’s A-side proves, their’s is a rawer, fresher sound than the New York garage rock band.
B-side Life’s Too Short is a more familiar sounding indie track and the disco synth takes a back seat in favour of guitar and impressive vocals.
The single is a strong debut for the pop-infused Americans and are definitely worth keeping a close eye on in the future.
Wild Party: Take My Advice is out on December 6.
