INSPIRED by the vibrancy of Greenwich borough, poet Elvis McGonagall has penned an original ode to the location which till host the first Summer Sessions music festival next week.
Winner of the World Slam Poetry Championship in 2006 Elvis will perform the piece exclusively for the first time at the event in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College on July 21 to July 23 and July 25.
Taking time out from his regular appearances on BBC Radio 3, Elvis will also compere three of the four evening performances.
He will introduce Seth Lakeman, The Levellers, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, as well as Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
BBC 6 Music presenter Matt Everitt will host the event on July 25, introducing Deptford band Athlete, special guests I Am Kloot and more.
