SQUEEZE fans who remember the New Wave band’s first gig in Greenwich are being invited to come to the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the group.
The Performing Rights Society, which champions the nation’s songwriters, composers and music publishers, has announced a plaque will be unveiled at the Greenwich Borough Hall in Royal Hill on March 23.
The band, which had hits with Cool For Cats and Tempted, first gigged at the venue in 1974 with original members Chris Difford, Glenn Tilbrook, Jools Holland and Paul Gunn.
Both Chris and Glenn will attend the event and give an exclusive acoustic performance with the band.
If you wish to attend the event, email heritageplaque@prsformusic.com
