BIGGIN Hill is not the obvious location for the birth of a punk band but that is where Rocky Goode, lead singer of The Thought Criminals hails from.
The band is due to release its next single, All the Freaks, next month which comes from what will be the band’s second album, You’re a Moral Liability.
Describing its music as dirty electro punk with an 80s influence Rocky counts Gary Numan and Adam Ant among the band’s influences.
The band, which has been going for about five years, was started by Rocky and friend, Kirlian Blue.
They started doing local gigs in clubs as well as Goldsmiths College and have seen their fan base grow over the internet.
Rocky said: “A lot of people came to see us down in Camden, then are following us around.”
And fans are the subject of All the Freaks.
In the words of Rocky, it’s about: “All of the people that come to see us. Everybody at the weekends, ends up with a freak.”
The Thought Criminals, All the Freaks. Out on August 31
