A busy road in Bromley has been closed due to a burst water main, with four bus routes on diversion.
The A233 (Westerham Road) between Rectory Road and B265 Heathfield Road has been closed following a burst water main in Bromley yesterday evening (July 24).
In a statement, Thames Water confirmed that engineers are at the scene and that repair works are currently underway.
The water company advised that the road would remain closed for several days and apologised to motorists for the disruption caused.
According to AA Maps, the 320, R2, 146 and 246 bus routes are on diversion whilst the road remains closed.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "We responded to reports of a burst water main on the A223 in Bromley in the evening of Wednesday 24 July.
“Our engineers attended as soon as possible and are currently making the necessary repairs which is expected to be completed over the coming days.
“During this time the road will remain closed and we are sorry for any disruption to residents and motorists.”
