A SQUADRON football team are going loop-the-loop after winning the London Wing five-a-side tournament.
The ladies from 1921 (Lewisham) Squadron, with ages ranging from 13 to 16 years old, beat 18 other teams to take the trophy.
After beating 27F (Chingford) Squadron 2-0 in the final, following a nailbiting semi-final penalty shoot-out win over 9F (Islington) Squadron, the ladies now go forward to the regional competition next month.
The members of the team were Corporals Jennifer Nixon and Charlotte Partington, 16, and Cadets Jenny Wain, Kerry Langley, Zoe Fogarty, 15, Rebecca Fogarty and Stephanie Lemos, 13.
Flight Lieutenant Caroline Tracey, the Squadrons Commanding Officer, was there all day said: "It was great to see the girls' team win today.
"This is a great start to this year's sporting competitions and I hope there are more medals to come."
